WELCOME

The Advisory Council Members of the International Society of Applied Psycholinguistics (ISAPL), Profs. Drs. Renzo Titone, Leonor Scliar-Cabral, Maria da Graça Pinto, Stefania Stame and the President of the 10th International Congress of ISAPL, Prof. Dr. Natalia Ufimtseva welcome and invite all scholars and students interested in the area of Applied Psycholinguistics to submit proposed subjects for their participation, and to participate in the Congress and in its scientific, social, and cultural activities. This important Scientific Meeting provides an exciting opportunity to share information on research with colleagues from around the world, integrating basic scientific research with practical applications for the benefit of human modern life.

 

The special emphasis topic of the Congress is on CHALLENGES OF INFORMATION SOCIETY AND APPLIED PSYCHOLINGUISTICS having in view what Applied Psycholinguistics can offer for the benefit of our Global Modern World. 

We hope that the congress will attract a lot of scholars and colleagues working in practical areas, in basic research, or teaching in schools and universities, for a scientific, academic collaboration.

 

CONGRESS VENUE

The Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, located in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, will host the Congress at the Faculty  of  Humanitarian and Social Sciences.

Peoples’ Friendship University (PFU) was founded on 5 February, 1960 by the USSR Government. The University’s name was changed to the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia on 5 February, 1992 by the RF Government, which is considered the University’s founder. It encompasses 14 Faculties. Among these the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences is one of the most popular and active.

CRITERIA FOR REVIEWING PROPOSED ACTIVITIES

a) Paper Session (PS) (90 minutes). Several papers on a related topic will be grouped by the Local Scientific Committee. According to the number of Authors grouped in each session, the Committee will announce in advance if there is sufficient time for presenting a full text or an abbreviated version of the paper.

b) Round table (RT) (60 minutes). A paper will be presented by one or more authors or by the Organizer and discussed with the (small) group. Each participant will provide an abbreviated version of his/her paper. Presumed Organizers are invited to send an abstract, and potential invited participants (see guidelines) describing the contents of the proposed RT.

c) Workshop (W) (60 minutes). The Organizer will conduct activities in which participants will discuss about a certain approach or tool. Formal presentation is kept to a minimum.

d) Poster session (PoS) (45 minutes). A visual display is prepared in order to present a study, a project, an experiment, etc. In the special session, the presenter stands next to the poster and is available to discuss the work. Specific guidelines for posters will be provided upon acceptance.

The criteria for reviewing will include:

·         Relevance of the proposal according to congress theme and topics;

·         Clarity of the submitted title, abstract, general presentation;

·         Theoretical and practical Implications.

 

Abstracts and papers should be presented in ENGLISH or RUSSIAN, though FRENCH is also accepted.

·         15 November 2012: Deadline for receiving proposals for Round Tables, Workshops and title of the session paper

·         15 December 2012: Deadline for communicating acceptance of proposals for Round tables, workshops and titles of session papers

·         28 February 2013: Deadline for notification of admission of abstracts, round tables, workshops, to give time for raising funds, writing papers etc.
